Image to STL, the working way: upload a photo or PNG, AI reconstruction builds the mesh, you preview it in 3D and download STL for your slicer — or GLB that keeps the color. 1, no watermark.

How image to STL works here, in three steps

1. Upload one clear image

A photo or PNG of a single subject — a toy, a pet, a person, flat artwork. The image is resized in your browser before anything is sent.

2. AI reconstructs the mesh

A 3D reconstruction model infers the shape from your image and builds a triangle mesh — the same class of model behind every image-to-3D tool.

3. Preview, then download

Spin the model right on the page, then take the STL to your slicer or the GLB to keep the color. Run your slicer's repair check — generated meshes like one.

What this tool can and can't do

Can

  • Build a recognizable 3D mesh from one photo or PNG
  • Preview it in real 3D right on the page, then export STL or color GLB
  • Print on any FDM or resin printer after your slicer's repair check
  • Convert between STL / OBJ / PLY / GLB / 3MF entirely in your browser

Can't

  • Guarantee millimetre accuracy or watertight meshes — no single-image tool honestly can
  • Show the back of the object the camera never saw — it is a plausible reconstruction, not a scan
  • Keep color in STL — the format stores geometry only (GLB is the color door)
  • Model text-to-3D or CAD-precision parts — different tools for those jobs
Reconstruct and print what you have the rights to. Your own photos, objects you own, artwork you made or licensed. Copying someone else's character, product or sculpture into a printable file is the one line this tool should not cross — read the content & IP policy for the plain-English version.
